“VERGOGNA” (Italian for “shame”) is UR Suoni’s first multimedia project. The compilation includes eight previously unreleased tracks, from eight different artists. Each track is paired with a short story from the collection "FUJIRE È VERGOGNA" (“Running away is shameful”), by Sicilian writer GIANNI ROMANO, to be released on May 29 by CATARTICA EDIZIONI. These stories revolve around Gela, the author’s hometown in Sicily. The city’s ancient landscapes blend with the nauseating smells of the now-defunct local industry, evoking twisted plots and the odd characters that inhabit the book. The tracks selected by UR Suoni aim at leading the listener (who, ideally, is also the reader) in those same imaginative settings.

Overall, the album presents an eclectic sound palette, and nonetheless is consistent with the label’s stylistic line: the tracks range from soft psychedelic digressions to violently experimental songs, but they are always backed by strong grooves and global sounds nuances.

THE COMPILATION CAN BE LISTENED TO AND DOWNLOADED FOR FREE BY SCANNING A QR CODE INSIDE THE BOOK. It is therefore designed as a bonus feature for those who purchase the paper edition of "Fujire è Vergogna". However, it can also be purchased separately on UR Suoni bandcamp page.

Con “VERGOGNA” UR Suoni lancia il suo primo progetto multimediale. La compilation propone otto brani musicali inediti, ognuno dei quali abbinato a un racconto della raccolta “FUJIRE È VERGOGNA”, opera dello scrittore siciliano GIANNI ROMANO in uscita il 29 Maggio per CATARTICA EDIZIONI. Attraverso queste narrazioni, l’autore esplora le emozioni evocate da Gela - la sua città d’origine - combinando antichi paesaggi con gli odori nauseanti dell’industria locale ormai defunta. Coerentemente, le tracce selezionate da UR Suoni cercano di evocare nell’ascoltatore (che, idealmente, è anche il lettore) quelle stesse emozioni.

Nel complesso, l’opera presenta una tavolozza sonora eterogenea, e nondimeno coerente con la linea stilistica perseguita dall’etichetta: si spazia da morbide divagazioni psichedeliche a brani violentemente sperimentali, sempre con grande attenzione a ritmi e suoni globali.
