Fit unformal is a technique, tactic, theory, art, philosophy of living and creating. It reflects in practice of pushing the limits of forms and norms, fitting into an ultimately open form in which you can grow while operating in every single contemporaneity. Album sound is defined by its freedom of expression that rides rhythms bouncing between the accents, destroyng and building itself in conflict, draggin its form towards opennes and its opennes to form. Its the result of timbral design experiments for textures, rhythms and hybrid elements, electric guitar power chord smashed on, non linear loops messing words and flow of the lyrics, primal and loud beating of percussion, overdriven piano cavalcades, all of it at the same time and in song form, but free to disintegrate and recompose, free to change its details every time, going along with the nature of sounds. Lyrics are poetic images, metaphores, experiences and witnessed sensations, with the commitment to describe human primal instinct evolved in the contemporaneity and its realtion to it, from the very intimate, personal and daily to the global themes.

So Beast are Katarina Poklepovic and Michele Quadri.

Tracks were semi-defined and composed between So Beast project studio in Molinella (BO) and various reharsal rooms in Split, winter to spring 2018. The album was recorded in summer 2018 in Zagreb and Split by Viseslav Labos, Danijel Drakulic and Karmelo Marin. The song "Beastride" was recorded live in Kucine, in a small house on a mountain with amazing panoramic view of sea and Split Bay, our amp broke up in the performance. Intro and Outro were recorded in front of a swiming pool in Vodice. Water is the perfect literal incarnation of FIT UNFORMAL..and we were always close to water...or humidity & rain at least. Same thing worths for the fire and the smoking hot summer days of 2018.

Produced, arranged and mixed by So Beast and Viseslav Labos during the shared residency in his place above the studio, where we had great fun, pro work, learned a lot and built friendship. We had the great luck to have on the album a couple of smashing takes from one of the best musicians of the Balkan avant-free-post-scene, the great saxophonist (and multi-instrumentalist) Damir Prica Kafka.

The album was mastered by Viseslav Labos and Tihomir Vrbanec.
