Dal vivo, dopo la fine del mondo. Una boutade, se vogliamo. La fine del mondo - evidentemente - non è ancora giunta. Ma, negli ultimi due anni, abbiamo davvero rischiato di assistere alla fine del nostro mondo. Le limitazioni imposte dalla pandemia hanno colpito in modo particolarmente duro il settore della musica dal vivo. A farne le spese sono state soprattutto le piccole realtà: quei club e promoter locali che, pur operando ai limiti della sopravvivenza, fornivano (e tutt’ora forniscono) all’underground il suo campo d’azione. Nondimeno, la dimensione dal vivo è proprio quella in cui un organismo come il nostro ha ragione di esistere. L’unica in cui il rapporto col pubblico (le urla, le danze, il sudore) crea i presupposti per un gioioso rito collettivo. Per esorcizzare le nostre frustrazioni e rendere omaggio a chi ancora resiste, abbiamo deciso di presentare due nuovi brani e due re-interpretazioni radicali di classici delle Mercenárias sotto forma di album dal vivo. Album registrato in uno dei nostri luoghi del cuore, durante uno dei rari concerti tenuti fra un lockdown e l’altro. Album costituito da un’unica traccia, da ascoltare tutto d’un fiato, senza sapere quale sarà il prossimo brano. Album in cui la voce si spezza, le bacchette colpiscono i microfoni della batteria e - alle volte - gli errori sono evidenti. Proprio come succede dal vivo. Buon ascolto.

Live, after the end of the world. Just a joke, if you like. Clearly, the end of the world is yet to come. But, in the past two years, we have come close to seeing the end of our world. The limitations of the pandemic hit the live music industry particularly hard. It was mainly small businesses that paid the price: local clubs and promoters who - while struggling to survive - provided the underground with its field of action. And yet, these same live venues are precisely where we are meant to be. The only places in which we can truly merge with the public, giving life to a joyful, collective organism that screams, sweats and dances. In order to exorcise our frustrations and pay homage to those who are still resisting, we have decided to release two new tracks and two twisted covers of classic songs by (Brazilian all-female punk band) Mercenárias in the shape of a live album. An album recorded in one of our favorite clubs, during one of the few concerts we managed to hold between a lockdown and the other. An album consisting of one single track, that is meant to be listened to all in one breath, without knowing what the next song will be. An album where the voice breaks, the drum sticks hit the drum mics and where - at times - mistakes are pretty obvious. The way it is when it’s live. Enjoy the ride.
